The BMS-xx-xx is a complete battery management system for installations, which already have a primary power supply. Smart Charging with Low Voltage Disconnect maintains battery protection by preventing battery failures caused by over-charging or excessively deep discharging. Dual Schottky diodes provide smooth transfer to battery power and seamlessly auto-revert back to the main AC powered source.
The Smart Charger is designed to auto-charge and maintain Gelled electrolyte (Gel-Cell) and liquid electrolyte lead-acid batteries. The charger is a constant current monitoring charger for the charging and maintenance of fixed location UPS, emergency lighting systems, and telecommunications battery backup systems.
The charger is protected against over loading, over-voltage, over-temperature, short circuit and reverse polarity by auto shut down. The charger auto-recovers after fault condition(s) are removed.
Smart Charging: - optimal battery charging. Highly recommended for deep cycle, AGM gel cell batteries.
Low Voltage Disconnect: - stops battery damage due to overdischarge. Automatically disconnects battery at an adjustable voltage and reconnects once power is restored.
Diode Isolation: - provides isolation and seamless transfer to battery when power goes down. No relays to fail or "glitches" to confuse processors and controllers.
Battery Management System Features:
- Commercial grade 12, 24 and 48 VDC systems 110 or 220 VAC input voltage (switch selectable)
- 1 rack unit models include a front panel indicator for battery status and DC output
- BMS-360 (2RU) models include a front panel indicator for power supply unit and a front panel meter for battery voltage and charging current

Units are factory pre-set for 120 AC input. Conversion for 240 volt AC input requires an internal adjustment by removing a "jumper wire" on the circuit board. This should only be done by a qualified technician or should be specified at the time of purchase.
