The AE-1 can monitor up to 8 inputs at remote locations with telemetry radio using two-tone, five-tone, or DTMF. Each input can have 2 status messages assigned to it such as open/closed, high/low, on/off, etc. The AE-1 can report a single alarm/condition to a two-tone or five-tone pager. It can also report multiple alarm conditions to Midian's CAD-100 and CAD-200. When using the CAD-100/200, information can be logged to a computer or printer.

The AE-1 will work in most any radio using two-tone, five-tone or DTMF (AT&T's Touch Tone®).
