Compact Synthesized FM Portable Conventional/Trunking Radio
The Kenwood TK-380 Multi-Mode wireless radios operate
on multiple systems types: conventional, trunking, wide or narrow bandwidth.
The Kenwood TK-380 Conventional Mode offers traditional two-way conventional
repeater and simplex operations. The Trunked Mode allows operation on both
conventional and LTR trunking systems.
Main Features:
Large channel capacity. The TK-380 has the 600-channel
capacity in Trunked Mode and the 250-channel capacity in Conventional Mode.
The unit dynamically allocates the 32 system and 250-group memory capacity
as system parameters are programmed. Each programmed system can be set
for either conventional or trunked operation.
Alphanumeric two-way paging (available soon). Radios
have the alphanumeric two-way messaging which provides the built-in capability
to send and receive pre-stored alphanumeric text messages. Each unit has
an electronic serial number for message sender identification.
Programmable function keys allow the unit to be
customized to fit user needs. Sophisticated feature sets are available
for special applications and supervisory personnel.
Wide-band coverage. The TK-380 can be programmed
for wide or narrow bandwidth operation per channel to accommodate all channel
allocations for local, regional and statewide frequency needs now and in
the future.
Flash memory, PC programming and tuning permit
updates, advanced feature sets and system architectural changes to be made
via the universal accessory connector from a PC-compatible computer without
ever having to open the radio to save both time and expense (KPG-49D software
and KPG-36 cable options required). Radios have the programming password
protection to prevent unauthorized access.
High-Quality audio output. The TK-380 is equipped
with an extra-large 1.58-inch speaker with a half-watt of audio power and
has the compandor noise-reduction programmable feature.
MIL-STD 810 C/D/E Environmental tests.
Kenwood TK-380 meets or exceeds a full range of tough U.S. Department of
Defense MIL-STD 810 C, D & E environmental standards in categories
such vibration, shock, humidity, dust, temperature and atmospheric pressure
and meets the demanding MIL-STD "driven rain" standard which guarantees
water-resistant performance even in wet weather.
Die-cast aluminum chassis contributes to
the TK-280/380 units' rigid strength while providing natural transmit heat
dissipation. Forming an integral part of the chassis is the super-tough
textured polycarbonate case that provides years of reliable use and long-lasting
appearance. The universal accessory connector and battery contacts use
spring action gold-alloy elements for excellent contact, conductivity and
anti-corrosive properties.
Dot matrix liquid crystal display with light control
furnishes the user with a simple easy-to-read interface and is recessed
for protection. The main display line has ten alphanumeric characters for
system/group/channel name aliases and two characters for operational/ status
indications. A three-character sub-line can be programmed for channel or
group number. The seven icons provide easy to remember feature and status
indications in all modes of operation.
Scanning and signaling functions. System scan and
group scan permit monitoring multiple systems and talk groups for calls.
DTMF keypad provides selective calling, system access, remote control applications
and access to automatic dialing features such as the auto-dial memory for
telephone interconnect or integrated Radio-PABX systems.
Key lock. A programmable key can be assigned to
lock the other radio key/control functions. Vital functions such as PTT
and Emergency are still available in locked mode.
Encription control provides secure voice communications
for law enforcement or private security with both automatic and manual
control for clear and coded modes. It provides voice scrambling from low-level
inversion to high-level encryption types.
Radio lock password prevents unauthorized use of
lost or stolen portables with an access code to be entered every time the
radio is powered up.
