VHF Compact Synthesized FM Portable
Radio
The new TK-370(N) "multi-feature" handhelds from
Kenwood will insure your group is well connected with features like 32-channel
memory capacity, built-in QT & DQT signaling and convenient dialing
functions.
Main Features:
Large LCD display provides clear legibility under
any lighting conditions from bright sunshine to the dark of night (backlight
on). It also displays various icons showing current operating status.
Tough, lightweight and compact construction means
the TK-370(N) will provide long-lasting field life. And because they
meet U.S. MIL-STD 810 C/D/E standards covering shock, vibration, humidity,
dust, and rain, they will perform in even the toughest conditions.
32-channel capacity (semi-duplex) ensures plenty
of room for applications today and tomorrow. And once programmed,
users simply select channels with the convenient rotary encoder located
on the top of the radio.
Busy channel lockout further improves channel management
by preventing transmit if another talk group is already on the air.
A timeout timer limits the transmission time of
the radio. Settings include the time allowed for continuous transmit,
the period before the TOT alarm sounds, and the retransmit prohibit period
and associated time allowed for temporary receive. These help guard
against misuse or accidental key-ups.
Built-in QT and DQT signaling segregates talk groups
so users only hear traffic from other co-channel users in their own group.
Selectable QT means the user can temporarily change the OT frequency set
for each channel.
Built-in 2-tone decoder offers a 2-tone paging
code (selectable between 288 - 1433.4 Hz) assignable to any channel.
An incoming message is signaled with audible and visible alerts.
DTMF signaling adds another dimension to paging
with 3- to 10-digit DTMF code combinations available. 3-digit ID plus 1-digit
group code SelCal and a 1 - to 5-digit status code are also supported,
is DTMF group calling.
Call alert lets you know you were called with DT
or 2-tone signaling.
DTMF transpond transmits a code telling the caller
that your radio received their DTMF paging signal.
Signaling AND/OR logic works when using combinations
of signaling systems. Squelch is opened when either one, or all,
signal requirements are met, depending on your settings.
Convenient dialing functions include Manual Dial,
Auto-Dial, Redial and Store & Send (display shows the input DTMF code
before it is sent).
The power saver feature automatically places the
receiver in a "sleep" mode for short intervals during periods of inactivity.
Low battery alert causes the red TX LED to
flash a warning when voltage drops below threshold.
Function settings and frequencies can be rapidly
and accurately programmed - with easy-to-use drop-down menus and help screens
-using the optional KPG-27D software and KPG-22 programming interface cable.
Self-program mode allows a technician to enter
setup data without a computer, including DTMF and channels.
The vertical layered design, with the battery pack forming
the entire back of the unit and the transceiver components forming the
front, is a fresh departure from the conventional stacked design.
This approach results in a stronger chassis and a single PCB, and improves
the overall styling and appearance of the radio.
Programmable power levels provide one of two settings
(High/Low) for each of the channels so the radio can be tailored for mixed
transmit range requirements. Output levels can be programmed at 5W/1
W on VHF and 4W/1 W on UHF.
Two types of ANI - PTT ID and DIAL ID - send connect
and disconnect ID information. PTT ID is activated by the PTT, and
DIAL ID by the dial keys. It is also possible to individually set
PTT ID as on or off for each channel.
Other Features:
-
The dial key also functions as a D/A key, allowing users
to add op delete scan channels at any time to customize the scan list lop
temporary assign-ments or to avoid nuisance traffic.
-
The talk around key switches the Radio to simplex made (non-repeater)
for close-in communications.
-
Priority scan
-
500 mW speaker audio output
-
Built-in speaker mic jack
-
Space for optional signaling boards. AUX switch turns
Its function on and off.
-
Wireless or wired cloning (Requires lnterface cable for wired
cloning)
-
"All reset" function resets all function settings and frequencies.
