VHF
Compact Synthesized FM Portable Radio
The word handy comes to mind when using the TK-260(N)
radio. The new design improves portability while simple yet efficient
operation makes this unit indispensable for any application.
Main Features:
-
Lightweight and compact
-
Simple operation
-
Large speaker with high audio output
-
QT/DQT built-in signaling
-
2-tone talk-back Paging
-
4-channel capacity
Lightweight and compact construction makes
the TK-260(N) the convenient and easy-handling answer for all requirements.
Very compact, these units measure 2-5/16 (W) x 5-5/16 (H) x 1-1/4 (D) inches
and weigh a mere 14 ounces (with KNB-14 battery).
The vertical layered design, with the battery pack
forming the entire back of the unit and the transceiver components forming
the front, is a fresh approach that allows for a stronger chassis and a
single PCB while improving the overall styling of the radio.
A large 1-3/4 inch speaker provides 500 mW audio
output. This enables the user to hear transmissions clearly even
in the noisiest environments.
4 memory channels store frequency and configuration
settings. These can be programmed using a personal computer and optional
KPG-27D programming disk and KPG-22 programming interface cable.
Power output settings (high/low) can be programmed
independently for each channel. The TK-260(N) can be set for 5W/1W.
Built-in QT and DQT signaling (encoder/ decoder)
segregates talk groups so users only hear calls from their own group.
Built-in 2-tone decoder offers a 2-tone paging
code (selectable between 288 -1433.4 Hz) assignable to any channel.
An incoming message is signaled with audible and visible alerts.
Signaling AND/OR logic works when using combinations of
signaling systems. Squelch is opened when either one, or all, signal
requirements are met.
Busy channel lockout further improves channel management
by preventing transmit if another talk group is already on the air.
The time-out timer can be programmed for a continuous
transmit limit.
The battery power saver circuit automatically sets
receiver sleep duration while monitoring carrier and tone status.
Low battery alert causes the red TX LED to flash
a warning when voltage drops below threshold.
Monitor/volume set temporarily defeats signaling
mode or opens up the squelch for a user volume setting reference.
A heavy-duty antenna mount uses the industry-standard
screw-mount connector for reliable mechanical and electrical performance.
This radio meet military environmental standards
MIL-STD 810 C/D/E covering covering rain, humidity, dust, vibration, &
shock, so you're assured of reliable operation even under adverse conditions.
