Telewave TWPC-1408 Bandpass Cavity Filters
The Telewave TWPC-1408-1 and TWPC-1408-2 are 8-inch diameter, quarter-wave high-Q bandpass cavity filters with superior selectivity, designed to pass a narrow frequency band while rejecting all others. They reduce transmitter sideband noise and protect receivers from desensitization.
The cavities cover 118 to 148 MHz and are factory-tuned to the specified frequency, requiring no further adjustments, though a positive locking mechanism allows quick field retuning if needed. They feature calibrated adjustable coupling, with insertion loss easily set from 0.5 dB to 2 dB or higher to optimize selectivity for any operating environment. At sites with high interference, the 1408-2 provides greater selectivity with minimal insertion loss, and multiple cavities can create a wider passband when necessary. Mounting rails are included for all multi-cavity filters.
Frequency stability is maintained across -30°C to +70°C using a machined compensator and Invar rod. Telewave.io Ground Loop technology grounds the center conductor of each coupling loop at DC potential for lightning protection and noise reduction.
The cavities are built with heavy-duty materials, including quarter-inch aluminum top plates heliarc-welded to the body at the high current point, silver-plated tuners, beryllium copper finger stock, and alodined aluminum to prevent corrosion and ensure reliable long-term performance. Rigid foam inserts support the tuner assembly for vertical or horizontal mounting. They handle up to 350 watts, depending on insertion loss.
