Telewave TWR8, TWR16 -1R Series Compact Receiver Panels
Telewave Compact Receiver Distribution Panels are designed to connect multiple receivers to a single antenna. This setup minimizes costs and reduces the load on towers while ensuring reliable signal quality, output isolation, and enhanced output levels. A standard receiver distribution panel is equipped with a power supply, an inline low-noise preamplifier, and either one or two 8-way splitters mounted on a 19-inch tray. The preamplifier boosts the system gain by up to +18 dB to compensate for losses due to splitting and cable lengths.
The Telewave 1R panels offer full functionality within a compact 1RU space. Initially configured with 8 channels, these units can be upgraded to 16 channels in the field by adding an extra 8-channel splitter. To prevent interference, all components within the receiver panel are fully shielded. Moreover, each panel has enough bandwidth to cover an entire commercial or Public Safety frequency band. These new panels can be seamlessly integrated with existing setups without the need for extra components or adjustments.
To ensure optimal performance, it is often necessary to include some filtering between the antenna and the receiver panel. Telewave produces a variety of high-quality preselector systems for both transmitters and receivers. The receiver panels from Telewave utilize premium splitters, offering 8 or 16 consistent 50-ohm outputs from a single input, with an impressive 25 dB isolation between each output. The input at the antenna is fine-tuned with a matching network to maintain a balanced input signal.
The custom-designed power supply in these units allows for both AC and DC power sources. The internal DC input circuitry permits a range of external DC voltages from +11.5 VDC to +15 VDC while maintaining a stable DC output voltage. This stability is crucial for the preamplifier to deliver consistent gain, maintain its 1 dB compression point, and uphold its 3rd order intercept point.
The versatility of the design makes it ideal for use with battery sources, solar panels, and thermal generators. An external DC-DC converter enables operation with DC inputs as low as +9.5 VDC.
Standard shipments of the 1R series include an inline low-noise bipolar preamplifier (TT models being the exception). There are additional options available, such as PHEMT preamps for a lower noise figure, high 3rd order intercept preamps suitable for RF-dense environments, redundant preamps for enhanced reliability in remote locations, and broadband preamps that accommodate multi-band operations.

1. All unused ports should be terminated with a 50-ohm load. The
TWL-01 RF terminator is recommended for this purpose.
2. Panel gain is measured from the input port to any output port and is factory-adjusted based on specific system requirements. If not specified, the standard gain is set to 6 dB.
3. Tuning range and bandwidth depend on the frequency band and system components.
