Icom IC-M510BB Shipboard Radio Station
Icom's M510BB offers a space-saving solution for boats that require AIS receive functionality without sacrificing valuable helm space. This system includes the CommandMic™ and a black box RF unit, providing comprehensive safety and communication features for both commercial and leisure boaters.
Available as:
With the CommandMic™ as the central control unit, all operations, including DSC functions, can be performed conveniently. The RF unit can be installed out of sight, up to 60 ft (18.3 m)* away from the CommandMic™, ensuring a clutter-free helm area.
* Two OPC-1541 cables are required for the 60 ft installation.
For boats requiring multiple communication stations, up to two additional CommandMic™ microphones can be added. This allows for easy communication points throughout the boat, such as the cockpit, fly bridge, and tower. The intercom feature enables both one-to-all and one-to-one communications on board.
The M510BB includes an integrated AIS receiver, perfect for remote station information via the CommandMic™, or integrated into the NMEA 2000® bus to display radar and chart plotter information on an MFD (Multi-Function Display).
In addition to the DSC button conveniently located on the back of each CommandMic™, the M510BB introduces a dedicated DSC Remote Control terminal compliant with the EN 300 338-8 standard. This allows for the connection of an external device to centralize emergency communication control.
The M510BB features a voice recording function that automatically saves up to two minutes of incoming calls, ensuring important information is captured.
By utilizing the NMEA 2000® network, the M510BB facilitates plug-and-play data communication with other marine equipment, such as an MFD. The radio can transmit AIS, GNSS (GPS) position, DSC calls, and radio channels to other interconnected devices.
Each CommandMic™ is equipped with a conveniently placed DSC button on the back. When activated, the M510BB transmits a DSC alert signal to nearby vessels, providing them with your vessel's MMSI* and GPS location information.
* MMSI number must be obtained and programmed for each vessel/radio.
The built-in 15W amplifier enhances audio output for an external hailer speaker. The one-way RX hailer function allows for broadcasting radio traffic through the hailer speaker, enabling you to listen to radio communications on the deck or tower. Additionally, foghorn patterns can be sounded through the hailer speaker.
The Active Noise Cancelling function digitally removes background noise from transmitting and receiving audio to provide clear communications in noisy maritime environments.
