Barrett 977 vehicle tracking system for 1- 250 mobiles
Includes:-
- 977 vehicle tracking operators manual
The Barrett 977 Software, designed to run on a Microsoft Windows
3.1,
3.11, 95 and NT, controls the Barrett 550 / 950 BaseTransceiver,
(via
the serial cable provided).
The software controls the
channel that the base transceiver
interrogates the mobiles on and commands the base transceiver
to send
the interrogation selective call sequence to the mobiles.
This selective call sequence, based on the CCIR 493-2 maritime format,
contains the mobile number to be
interrogated and a control byte
indicates the call is a GPS position request sequenceidentifying
it
from a normal selcall or telcall sequence.
The mobile transceiver responds to the selective
call by sending a
selcall sequence back to the base transceiver containing
its self ID
number and position information decoded from its
GPS receiver. This
position information is subsequently decoded by the base
transceiver
and communicated to the Barrett 977 Tracking Software,
the position
information is then used to locate the mobile visually
on the loaded
maps.
Returned status codes from the Barrett 550 /
950 Transceiver allow
Barrett 977 to know the status of every
location request command.
Codes are also provided to indicate if the GPS receiver
has lost its
fix or the mobile receiver is no longer responding.
Barrett 977 Software interprets the status codes and displays
them as
verbose messages in a status window. This allows the operator
to see
the system status as well as quickly diagnosing any problems.
Barrett 977 HF GPS vehicle tracking complete
package specs
The Barrett 977 HF Tracking System is an Automatic Vehicle Locating
and Tracking Package which utilises the Navstar Global Positioning
System (GPS) and an HF network consisting of a central control
station and mobiles. The computer based tracking system, located at
the control station, automatically polls vehicles or vessels within
the HF network, retrieving their position using a standard selcall
format based on CCIR493-2. The position of the vehicle or vessel
being tracked is then displayed on a computer based map.
The control station consists of a PC loaded with the Barrett 977 HF
Vehicle Tracking Software connected to a Barrett 550/950 transceiver.
Vehicles or vessels to be tracked are fitted with a Barrett 550/950
Transceiver equipped with an optional GPS receiver, which can be
fitted inside the transceiver; or an external GPS unit.
Features:
Monitors, tracks, follows or finds vehicles on maps stored on the
control station computer.
Reports alarm conditions immediately upon receiving a distress signal
issued by any vehicle or vessel and automatically displays its
location on the appropriate map.
Warns when vehicles or vessels approach a user defined exclusion
zone.
Vehicle or vessel positions can be recorded for later playback and
analysis.
Provision to read and update textual information about specific
locations on the map (way points). Waypoints are colour coded dots
which are placed on the map by the user.
Provision to retrieve and store textual information about every
vehicle or vessel in the fleet.
Displays the current mobile position as an icon (various sizes),
continuous track or a trail of points. Clicking on a trail point with
button 2 will display the Selcall ID, date, time, latitude and
longitude.
Telemetry displays the mobile selcall number, speed, distance,
calculated arrival time and bearing to a selected destination, which
can be a location on the map or the location of another mobile.
Maps can be scanned by the customer using an A4 flat bed scanner and
registered using the inbuilt registration system in the tracking
software.
Displays distances in metres, kilometres or nautical miles.
Allows you to define areas on the map within which collision
detection warning will not be activated (blind zones).
System accuracy in the order of 15 to 30 metres (when subject to the
effects of selective availability 100 metres).
Transceiver function access which includes PAGECALL, STATUS CALL and
the ability to control most main transceiver functions from the
computer screen.
