Features & Benefits
Motorola original accessory. High quality and durability product.
Includes straight 30" cord assembly, 3.5mm threaded earjack, swivel
clip, quick disconnect latch,
antenna connector, and receiver, audio high/low volume push button.
The NMN6228 Public-Safety Speaker/Microphones includes a speaker, microphone,
push-to-talk (PTT) switch, high/low
volume switch, swivel clip, and cord connector assembly.
The public-safety speaker/microphone has a threaded antenna jack located
on top of the housing, which accepts antennas
for enhanced radio system coverage.
It is also possible to utilize discrete earpieces via a 3.5mm screw
thread jack.
When the speaker/microphone is attached to the radio, the speaker in
the radio is disabled, and the receiver audio is
connected to the accessory speaker. Similarly, the accessory microphone
is connected to the transmitter, and the
accessory PTT switch can now control the PTT function of the radio.
The radio microphone and PTT switch are still
operational, but since the radio speaker is disabled, you can listen
to the received audio only through the accessory
speaker.
The antenna is not supplied with the public safety speaker/microphone
kit, and it must be ordered
separately, see below.
It is not recommended to use this public-safety speaker/microphone with
VHF radios, since radio
performance is reduced. This item is also not recommended for use with
mid band radios
